Duality OCT (Ranger Application): Elwood

For an OCT Tournament thing.

Name: Elwood
Age: 19
History: Elwood had lived in Castelia all his life, and was pretty happy with it. His father was a knight in the Warriors Guild, a job that brought in a good amount of income. His mother was a kind housewife, and surprisingly, a skilled archer. Elwood had learned a few tricks from her, and had become a pretty decent archer himself. Elwood himself got a part-time job as a shopkeeper when he was 17, so he could have money of his own to spend on things he liked. Life was pretty swell. His parents were usually out, so he spent a lot of time in the house alone. He would often turn to his pet Trapinch, Calvin, for a conversation partner, to keep himself from feeling lonely. Although he never got a response, Elwood liked talking to him. One day however, while he was on his own in the house, he was attacked by a member of the Thieves Guild. The thief probably thought everybody was out, so he could steal something, but when caught in the act, he attacked Elwood. It happened so fast. Calvin managed to protect Elwood the moment the thief came at him, but however, Elwood sustained a few cuts and bruises from the scrap. Elwood's father got home about 5 minutes after the thief's arrival. Upon seeing the knight, the thief fled. Elwood thought things could go back to normal, but they couldn't.

The next morning, on his 19th birthday, his parents made the decision to send him away from Castelia. Their home wasn't in what you would call a safe area. Elwood's mother packed him some clothes and food, gave him a dagger, packed him a bow and quiver, and sent him away from the city. They said it was what's best, since the city is becoming a dangerous place. Elwood didn't understand why he had to leave. Were his parents being too over-protective? Probably. Before sending him on his way, his father handed him a Pokeball containing his Breloom, Miles. Elwood's Trapinch, Calvin also decided to accompany him on his journey. Elwood had never been out of Castelia before, so everything was all new. He was excited. After about 3 days, he ended up at a forest. He didn't even know where this forest was. That's what made it scary. Elwood thought he could get through the forest, hoping to find a peaceful settlement, but he got lost. He was terrified of the dark, petrified of wild aggressive Pokemon, and horrified about being lost. This experience turned him into a bit of a paranoid man. His parents didn't really give him a map. Where the heck was he going, even? He lives in the forest now, trying to survive without getting eaten OR without getting involved in another cival war fight. Elwood hopes to find the Rangers in the forest, so he can learn to defend himself better, and at least have someone to talk to other than his Pokemon. I mean seriously. If he keeps talking to Pokemon he's probably going to go insane.

Personality: He's an insomniac. He barely gets any sleep, usually only 2 hours a day. Sometimes he doesn't sleep at all. This is mainly because he's still a teensy, tiny bit scared of the woods. He finds it hard to sleep sometimes knowing there are wild Pokemon around every corner that could very easily rip his head off. In the time he's been there you would think he's used to the environment! He's not very independent, and usually relies on Ibb or other rangers to help him make his way through the forest. He prefers to travel in a group, because he's worried about being mauled by wild Pokemon. He's a little socially awkward sometimes, but doesn't mind speaking up. His awkwardness is probably due to his slight fears of the forest. When he's in an area that he believes is safe, however, he opens up and is able to speak confidently without worrying about being attacked or killed. Elwood is desperately trying to vanquish his fear of the forest, because he knows for sure he can't go back to the war-ridden city.

Pokemon:

Miles: Miles is a Breloom given to him by his father before he left Castelia City. Elwood's father used Miles for fighting, so it's experienced and strong enough to protect him from any dangers. Miles is incredibly loyal to Elwood, despite just meeting him. It probably recognizes that Elwood is of the same bloodline, or something. Who knows.
Calvin: Calvin was the family pet Trapinch that now travels with Elwood. Weirdly, it acts much like a small dog. It's a crazy, insane little creature that likes to bite things. Kind of violent, but it respects Elwood for putting up with it.
Autumn: Autumn is a shiny Swablu that Elwood found in the forest. It took a while, but he managed to capture it using one of the few Pokeballs his mother had packed for him. Elwood doesn't even know that it's shiny. He doesn't even know what the heck a shiny is! He just thinks it 'looks nice'. He hopes that Autumn evolves one day so he can actually fly somewhere, but for now, she's stuck as a small bird. Autumn can still fly up and scout the area for exits, but has no way of really telling Elwood what way to go. So she's kinda useless at the moment, to Elwood at least.
